This self-proclaimed sport capital of Texas, located just north of Austin, has created an environment that is focused on golfers, sport fans, athletes and vacationers. Sports fans can attend a baseball game (Apr. to Oct.) featuring the Round Rock Express, a farm team for the Houston Astros, or an Austin Icebats hockey game (Oct. to Mar.), a Minnesota Wild NHL affiliate team. Round Rock also has a variety of attractions, restaurants and entertainment available. The Putt N fun Center has miniature golf, batting cages, go-karts, laser tag and an arcade, while the Innerspace Caverns in nearby Georgetown has cave tours that guide visitors through an elaborate underground system of cavern rooms and lakes. Lake Travis offers water sports opportunities, from multi-class sailboats and windsurfing regattas to ski boats. Nature lovers enjoy the wildlife and lush vegetation of Canyon of the Eagles and Westcave Preserve.
